Locally Efficient Estimation of Regression Parameters Using Current Status Data

چکیده
In biostatistics applications interest often focuses on the estimation of the distribution of a time-variable T . If one only observes whether or not T exceeds an observed monitoring time C, then the data structure is called current status data, also known as interval censored data, case I. We consider this data structure extended to allow the presence of both time-independent covariates and time-dependent covariate processes that are observed until the monitoring time. We assume that the monitoring process satisfies coarsening at random. Our goal is to estimate the regression parameter β of the regression model T = Z>β + . The curse of dimensionality implies no globally-efficient nonparametric estimator with good practical performance at moderate sample sizes exists. We present an estimator of the parameter β that attains the semiparametric efficiency bound if we correctly specify (a) a model for the monitoring mechanism and (b) a lower dimensional model for the conditional distribution of T given the covariates. In addition, our estimator is robust to model misspecification. If only (a) is correctly specified, the estimator remains consistent and asymptotically normal. We conclude with a simulation experiment and a data analysis.

Locally Efficient Estimation in Censored Data Models: Theory and Examples
In many applications the observed data can be viewed as a censored high dimensional full data random variable X . By the curse of dimensionality it is typically not possible to construct estimators which are asymptotically efficient at every probability distribution in a semiparametric censored data model of such a high dimensional censored data structure. We provide a general method for constr...
متن کاملEfficient Estimation of the Partly Linear Additive Hazards Model with Current Status Data
This paper focuses on efficient estimation, optimal rates of convergence and effective algorithms in the partly linear additive hazards regression model with current status data. We use polynomial splines to estimate both cumulative baseline hazard function with monotonicity constraint and nonparametric regression functions with no such constraint. We propose a simultaneous sieve maximum likeli...
متن کاملA HYBRID SUPPORT VECTOR REGRESSION WITH ANT COLONY OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM IN ESTIMATION OF SAFETY FACTOR FOR CIRCULAR FAILURE SLOPE
Slope stability is one of the most complex and essential issues for civil and geotechnical engineers, mainly due to life and high economical losses resulting from these failures. In this paper, a new approach is presented for estimating the Safety Factor (SF) for circular failure slope using hybrid support vector regression (SVR) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The ACO is combined with the S...

متن کاملParameter Estimation of Geographically Weighted Trivariate Weibull Regression Model
In this study, Geographically Weighted Trivariate Weibull Regression (GWTWR) model and parameter estimation procedure are proposed. GWTWR is trivariate Weibull regression model which all of the regression parameters depend on the geographical location, and parameter estimation is done locally at each location in the study area. The location is expressed as a point coordinate in two-dimensional ...
